When to get in touch

Common reasons people bring a vacuum in

We won't guess the fault from a description. We look at your vacuum first, then tell you what we found and what it would cost.

  • Losing suction

Suction can drop for several reasons, from a blockage to a worn part. We'll check it properly before suggesting a service or a repair.

  • Hair wrapped round the roller

Long hair and carpet fibres wind tightly round the brush roller. Clearing it is part of every full service.

  • Stopped working

If it won't switch on or cuts out, start with a repair assessment. You'll get an itemised quote before anything is repaired.

  • Due a routine service

Still working but not at its best? A full service gives it a thorough clean, unblock and roller clear-out.

Vacuum servicing

A full vacuum service at our Wetherby shop

A full service is a thorough clean-up for a vacuum that still works but isn't performing as it should. Drop it off at the shop and pick it up when we let you know it's ready.

  • Every full service includes

    What we do

    • A full clean
    • Unblocking
    • Removing tangled hair from the roller
    • A complimentary vacuum freshener, if you'd like one
    • Fragrance-free care if you'd rather not have it

Parts and additional repair work are quoted separately, and we only go ahead once you've approved them.

Vacuum cleaner repairs

Not working properly? Start with a repair assessment

If your vacuum has a fault, we assess it first rather than guess. You then get an itemised quote for the parts and labour, and the repair only goes ahead if you approve the exact total.

  • If you go ahead

    Repair labour

    From£29.50

This includes the £15 assessment, so you don't pay for it twice.

    • Parts quoted separately
    • Exact total agreed before work starts

What a repair could cost

Here's how the numbers add up for an approved repair, using a £12.50 part as an example. Your own quote will list the actual parts and labour for your vacuum.

Example: approved repair, dropped off at the shop
Repair labour, including the assessment£29.50
Replacement part (example)£12.50
Total£42.00

If you decide not to go ahead

That's fine. The £15 assessment is still payable and your vacuum is ready to collect from the shop. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

Service and repair together

If your vacuum needs both, you pay for the service once, then only the extra repair labour and any parts. Nothing is charged twice.

How it works

From drop-off to collection, step by step

Bring your vacuum into the shop, tell us what's wrong, and we'll take it from there.

  1. Step 1: Drop it off at the shop

Bring your vacuum to 46 North Street, Wetherby, with its head, tools and, for a cordless model, its charger.

  2. Step 2: Tell us what it's doing

Lost suction, a tangled roller, not switching on, or just due a service. We agree whether it needs a service or an assessment.

  3. Step 3: We service it or assess the fault

Your vacuum gets the agreed service, or we look at it properly to find out what's wrong.

  4. Step 4: You get an itemised quote

If it needs a repair, we list the parts and labour so you can see exactly where the money goes.

  5. Step 5: You approve the exact total

No repair work starts until you've said yes to the final figure.

  6. Step 6: Collect it from the shop

We let you know when it's ready, and you pick it up with an invoice.

A full clean, unblocking, and removing tangled hair from the roller. We'll add a complimentary vacuum freshener if you'd like one, or keep it fragrance-free if you'd rather not.

No. This is a drop-off service, so you bring your vacuum to the shop on North Street and collect it from there when it's ready.

What should I bring?

The vacuum with its floor head and tools, and the charger and battery for a cordless model. Knowing the make and model helps too.
